Agricultural Sales & Service Academy of Elk Grove High School
The Agriculture Sales and Service Academy of Elk Grove High School was designed and implemented in the 2008-2009 school year to provide more opportunities for students. The three pathways available for students to choose from are Agriculture Science, Floral Design, and Metal Fabrication.

FFA Advisors/Instructors 2011 -2012
Mike Albiani was born and raised in Elk Grove. He is a graduate of Elk Grove High School and now serves as the Agriculture Department Chairperson. He graduated from CSU, Fresno and earned his teaching credential from UC Davis. He and his family own and run a cattle operation in Sheldon, California. Mr. Albiani is always at the high school, whether it be the ag office or the school farm. He coaches the Cooperative Marketing and Farm Records Teams.
Alyssa Schager was born and raised in the foothills of Amador County, CA. She grew up on a small scale cattle ranch and was involved in both 4-H and FFA. With a Bachelor of Science Degree and Teaching Credential from CSU, Chico and a Masters Degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; Alyssa feels that she was destined to become an agriculture teacher. Alyssa taught at Delta High School for four great years and this is her fifth year teaching at Elk Grove High School. She serves as the officer team adviser and coaches the public speakers for competitive events. She also co-coaches the Marketing Plan Team and the Ag Sales Team. She advises the swine exhibits for the Sacramento County Fair.
Amy Erman grew up in Wilton, California on a small livestock ranch. She graduated from CSU, Fresno with honors. She taught at Johansen High School for nine years and is currently completing her fifth year at Elk Grove High School. At Elk Grove High School, Mrs. Erman directs the Blossoming Ambitions Floral Business as well as teaches the floral classes . She also co-coaches the Marketing Plan Team and the Ag. Sales Team. Mrs. Erman loves going home to her four beautiful babies at the dairy: Logan, Cole, Morgan and Gracie.
Matt Patton grew up in Orland, California on a diversified livestock and crop ranch. He attended Mendocino Junior College and played football and then transferred to CSU, Chico. He has a Masters Degree from National University. He managed the Diamond Bar D Feedlot in Oroville, CA before starting his teaching career. He taught for six years at Florin High School and has been at Elk Grove High School for seven years. Mr. Patton expertise lie in agriscience fair projects and livestock/school farm management. He coaches the Poultry Judging Team and Farm Business Mangaement Team.
Not only is Matt Rooney the shop instructor at Elk Grove High School, but he is also an alumni of the Agriculture Program. He graduated and obtained his teaching credential from UC Davis after working in the agriculture industry for several years. His strengths include agriculture mechanics, welding, and wood construction. Matt advises the egg production project and student projects in the greenhouse.He also coaches the Ag Pest and Ag Welding Teams.
Shannon Welch is originally from Herald, CA. She attended both Modesto Junior College and CSU, Fresno where she worked at the Fresno State Meats Laboratory. She has taught agriculture classes for eight years; five at Coalinga High School and the last three at Elk Grove. At EGHS, Shannon teaches Applied General Science and Introduction to Agriculture. She also coaches a vegetable crop judging team, advises the chapter scrapbook, and assists with the rabbit projects, goat, and sheep projects at the school farm.

Elk Grove High School Advisory Committee
The Agriculture Advisory Committee members are a unique group of interested parents, community members, businessmen, businesswomen, and agriculture industry leaders who have come together for the betterment of the Elk Grove High School Agriculture Department and FFA.They assist in the planning and development of curriculum, financial resources and industry standards, as well as, serving the students as local judges and volunteers for various FFA competitions, events, and activities.
