Hugh is in the registered Shorthorn business, currently maintaining his Shorthorn herd while teaching Vocational Agriculture. He is a graduate of Chico State University, and is currently teaching Ag. Science at Galt High School.

Joyce received her degree for two reasons: (1) her excellent dairy project and (2) a high degree of activity in the F.F.A. on the local, regional, state and national level.

Ken won his award because of his proficiency in crops, Ag. Mechanics and Ag. Electrification. He is currently employed in a farming operation with Oneto Brothers. Ken is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Randy is in the registered Suffolk and Rambouillet sheep business. He is also a qualified auctioneer. Randy is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he majored in Ag. Business.

Bruce received his degree because of an excellent flock of registered Suffolk sheep and a Work Experience project in the family Christmas Tree Farm. Bruce is a graduate of CSU Fresno where he obtained his masters degree in Ag. Business.

Mike Harry 1982

Mike is in the registered Hereford cattle business. His award was based on his Hereford cattle and his fine record of activities in the F.F.A. Mike is presently employed in the cattle business, and is a graduate of the University of California at Davis.

Mike Albiani 1983
|
Mike received his degree for his very active participation in F.F.A. at the local, regional and state levels, as well as an excellent registered Shorthorn breeding project. Mike is currently a Vocational Agriculture Instructor. He is a graduate of Fresno State University.

Randy received his degree for his excellent registered Duroc breeding project, as well as outside work experience. He is a graduate of CSU Fresno.

Jennifer Albiani 1984
|
Jennifer earned her degree through her active participation in numerous F.F.A. activities, as well as her extremely successful Shorthorn breeding cattle project. She is a graduate of CSU Fresno where she majored in Agricultural Education.

Sean Tollenar 1984

Sean attained his degree through his outstanding level of achievement in all phases of the F.F.A. In addition to this achievement, he built an excellent Dairy Project. Sean received the 1983 Star State Farmer Award, and he is a graduate in Dairy Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Dave Nicholas 1985

Dave secured his American Farmer Degree by always striving for a high level of achievement in the F.F.A. He was extremely active in F.F.A. leadership activities and he developed an excellent registered Suffolk sheep project. Other endeavors include a Sheep Shearing and Fitting Service, which served as his Work Experience project. Dave is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Tim Albiani 1986
|
Tim received his American Farmer Degree because of his widespread F.F.A. participation and quality registered Shorthorn project. His F.F.A. experiences include Chapter and Sectional officer, Regional Beef Proficiency Winner, four gold's in Project Competition and runner up in the Regional Extemporaneous Speech Contest. Tim's leadership experiences and project development make him a strong American Farmer. He is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.

Jon Tollenaar 1986
|
Jon fulfulled his degree requirements through a high level of F.F.A. activities. Not only did he hold the chapter presidency two consecturive years, but he also served as Sacramento Section President. His quality Holstein Dairy Cattle project was recognized at a number of Project Competitions as the Outstanding Project in Division 1 and 2, and earned him the Star Sectional and Star Regional Farmer award. Jon is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he obtained a degree in Dairy Science.

Ken Mitchell 1987

Ken attained his degree through very active participation in the F.F.A., as well as an outstanding turkey project. Ken was Chapter President as well as Central Region Reporter. He was the Western Region Poultry Proficiency winner, and his S.O.E.P. also won him four Gold Awards in Project Competition. Ken is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and currently manages Mitchell Turkey Farm.

Chris Van Doren 1987
|
Chris earned the American Farmer degree because of his Holstein Dairy Project and his many activities in the F.F.A. He earned many awards with his Holsteins, and numerous times was the Outstanding Project in Project Competition. Chris graduated from Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo.

Dennis Albiani 1988
|
Dennis received his American Farmer Degree for his participation in many high level F.F.A. activities. Dennis served as a chapter officer for two years, Sacramento Section President, Central Region President and the California Association F.F.A. Vice President in 1987-88. His quality project of Registered Shorthorn breeding cattle have earned him many awards at the state level, including Premier Exhibitor at the California State Fair, and Sectional and Regional Star Farmer. Dennis graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Michael Calicura, Jr. 1990
|
Michael fulfilled his degree requirements through a high level of F.F.A. activities. He held the office of Chapter President for two years and was also selected to serve on the State F.F.A. Nominating Committee. His quality projects in swine, beef cattle and work experience earned him gold awards in Project Competition, Sectional Star Agribusinessman and State Proficiency Winner in Agricultural Sales and Service. Michael was selected as the outstanding member of the Elk Grove F.F.A. Chapter for three consecutive years.

Lisa attained her degree through active participation in the F.F.A. and an outstanding project of Angus beef cattle, swine and work experience. Lisa won many gold awards in Project Competition and served as a chapter officer. Lisa is a graduate of Fresno State College.

Daryle secured his degree through his outstanding work experience program in Agricultural Sales and Service in which he was selected the Regional Proficiency Winner. He also had a market swine project and was very active in F.F.A. activities, serving as Chapter Sentinel. He is currently living and working in Lodi.

John received his degree through his active participation in the F.F.A. He was the outstanding F.F.A. member for two years, served as a Chapter officer, and had excellent projects in beef, swine, sheep and work experience. With these projects he received many golds in Project Competition.

Kris fulfilled his degree requirements through active participation in the F.F.A. He held the office of Chapter Vice President and Sentinel, and won gold awards in Project Competition. His outstanding project of Registered Shorthorn Cattle won him many awards, and Kris had an excellent paid work experience project in landscaping.

Courtnie attained her degree through very active participation in the F.F.A. and a lot of hard work behind the scenes. She had outstanding projects in Suffolk sheep, Pigmy goats and paid work experience, and earned many golds in Project Competition.

Tammy's attitude towards life earned her the American Farmer Degree. Constantly serving and helping other F.F.A. members, she also had a strong beef and work experience project. Tammy was an asset to our program and will be successful at any career she chooses.

Whitney had a very strong project that consisted of sheep, goats, beef and work experience. Whitney had many hundreds of hours of community service in Elk Grove, where we hope she will settle after college.

Ted Van Steyn 1995

Ted fulfilled his degree requirements with a very successful dairy/work experience project. He works very hard at every project he tackles, from Dairy cattle selection to champion Farm Records Team. Ted was involved in most things the Chapter had to offer. He is currently working on the family dairy in Elk Grove.

Steve earned his degree through his extensive grain production enterprise. He is currently working for the U.S. D.A. as well as continuing his farming enterprises.

Jill won many awards with her registered Hampshire sheep project. She was a very active F.F.A. member and often found time to help younger members. She is currently teaching Agriculture at the high school level.

Adria had a very strong work experience project on a horse ranch. She was a very a strong F.F.A. member and served as a chapter officer. Adria was also active in many community service activities.

J. R. Hardesty 1997

J.R. earned his degree with an extensive work experience project for Hardesty Trucking and Bar JP Ranch. He was a State winner in the Agricultural Sales and Service Proficiency Award area. J.R. is currently working for Bar JP Ranch and beginning his own ranching business.

Congetta Maita 1997
|
Congetta served the Elk Grove Chapter as a very involved young lady. She was elected Chapter President and served on many committees. She was a member of the Greenhand, Parliamentary Procedure and Farm Records teams. Her projects consisted of registered Red Angus cattle, greenhouse plants and sheep.

Richard was very active in the Elk Grove F.F.A., serving as Chapter President. He was a member of the Livestock, Parliamentary Procedure and Cooperative Marketing teams. His projects consisted of registered Shorthorn breeding cattle, work experience and home improvement. He was also a State Proficiency Finalist.

Jennifer Luiz 1998

Jennifer was a strong leader and organizer who was totally involved in F.F.A. She served as President at the local level, and Treasurer at the regional level. Jennifer's projects were beef, sheep and swine. She was on the State Championship Cooperative Marketing Team, as well as competed in Parliamentary Procedure and Job Interview contests.

Talia Maita 1998

Talia fulfilled her requirements for the American Farmer Degree through very active participation in the F.F.A. She served as the local President, while keeping a strong work experience project at Robinson and Sheldon Feed. She also had a very nice herd of Red Angus. Talia is a cattle woman in El Dorado County.

Justin's Supervised Agricultural Experience Project included market swine and work experience at Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic. He was also very active in community service on behalf of the chapter. He is currently attending Cosumnes River College and working at Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic.

Adam had the strongest work experience program in the history of the chapter, working for Hardesty Hay Haulers. He also ran his own hay hauling business. He is currently self employed.

Pam Heuvel 2000

Pam had a strong Hampshire sheep project, as well as work experience for her Supervised Agricultural Experience Program. She served as chapter officer for 2 years, and was an exceptional student.

Sheryl Hardesty 2000

Sheryl had a very strong work experience program, working for Hardesty Hay and Cattle Company. She was very active, and her "can do" attitude will serve her well in what ever she attempts.

Beth's strong work experience program at Sheldon Feed, as well as her activity on very successful judging teams made her a real success. Elk Grove FFA was lucky to have her in the chapter.

Caitlin had an excellent flock of colored sheep and a strong work experience project. She was very active in chapter activities from judging teams to community service.

Tim had a strong work experience program in both outdoor recreation and viticulture (he was a finalist at the National Convention). Tim also was an Agriculture Exchange Student in Costa Rica.

Julia's excellent S.A.E.P. consisted of market steers, horses and work experience in a commercial nursery. She was very active in chapter activities and continues with community service at a high level as an adult.

He was also involved in many successful state judging teams, and won the State Proficiency Winner in Placement in Emerging Technologies in Agriculture.

Kallie was a national finalist in Sales and Service Placement Proficiency. She had a very strong work experience project at Sheldon Feed & Supply, and was extremely active in FFA activities. She served as a chapter officer for two years, and was on three state winning judging teams.
